Meet the Deckers

Meet the Deckers
We are a blessed family! It started out 3 years ago with the addition of Memphis, our crazy Labradoodle. Then, we added Jules in January 2010. Next, our little man made his appearance in May 2011. What fun times are ahead for us!

Trick or Treat

Before trick or treat Jules had her school party.  Its crazy how different those kids are now compared to last Halloween.  They all sat at the table and ate.  It was sweet.

For Trick or Treat last year we went over to the Tomlin’s friends house in McCalla.  They close off all the streets and you have to have a pass to drive in.  Otherwise, you have to park and walk in.  We are very grateful that they invited us again this year.

Jules did great trick or treating.  She would just take one piece.  She would say “Happy Halloween” (you can really only hear/understand Halloween but still…) and she would always say “Thank You”.  She also says “Hey, how are you?” all the time!  It really is super cute.

This is Jules as a pumpkin last year.  So funny!

Halloween Weekend Part II

On Sunday we went for Jules last picture session with Meredith Rowlen.  We had purchased a package when she was first born.  We decided to do them outside because we had not done any outside yet.  Well, that was a mistake.  Jules was still in her tantrum state and so the pictures were incredibly hard to take (especially after she threw a tantrum within the first 5 minutes over her cup).  I felt like I had ran a marathon after the session.  It was crazy!

Afterward we went to a Fall Festival with the Tomlins.  We rode a Hayride, made a Scarecrow, had our face painted and played lots of games.  It was fun!

The Start of Halloween Weekend

On Friday Shook had his classroom Halloween party.  Toward the end of the party, Jules' teacher comes in to tell us that Jules had an accident.  She was running and tripped.  She hit her noggin on the corner of a table.  She had a big ole bruise on her head.

As you can tell, she was still a happy girl.  They said it was actually probably a record for the shortest cry - she just got up and kept playing.  I do think that the bump affected her behavior for the rest of the weekend.  She refused to nap on Saturday and she had quite a few tantrums.  Here she is at Toys R Us.

This is where tantrum #1 occurred.  As you can tell, she really liked the purse and the shopping cart.  She also liked something new on every isle until she finally found those things.  It was fun to say the least (sarcasm)!

We did end up doing something productive though.  I saw this on Pinterest so we tried it out.

It actually kept her busy for awhile.  Then, it turned into this:

And this:

Ultimately the pipe cleaners were scattered all through the house.  And, little man, looked on at all the fun!
