1. Jules was in her first 'musical' (besides her school musical which I have pictures from too but turned out to be more like a 5-person class rehearsal).
She and 2 of her friends did a 'Spring Break Camp' with Act Too and the play was to Frozen (of course, what else would it be too?!?) They even got to perform on the last day at Franklin Theatre. I love that place!
Haha...she is looking for us in the crowd in this next picture!
Here she is trying to find her BFF on the other side of the stage!
There her BFF, singing her heart out!
All dressed up! I think she has grown 2 feet since this picture.
She loved it! She still says, "Remember when we went to that play and we sang Frozen songs, I want to do that again."
2. We got some super cute pictures taken.
3. Jules took swim lessons (Shook did not) and now she is mostly swimming without her puddle jumper. She's not allowed in without it if mom and dad are not in the pool but generally speaking she does really well. And she asks for more swim lessons all the time! I'm not sure if it's because of the swimming or because she met a friend there who was about to go into 1st grade but will be in the same school as she will (which you don't see much of here because there are SO many schools). You can't tell from these pictures but the one time they let parents watch the swim class (which was 3 weeks ever day for 30 minutes which made for a very stressful 3 weeks), I would say Jules did more talking that she actually did swimming.4. My silly boy Shook learned how to wear diapers on his head (and moon people, but more about that later). Trust me, he thinks its hilarious! (which is a new word that Jules has also become quite accustomed to using lately)
5. We went to Destin for work but had fun while we were there! Jules and I flew and Michael and Shook drove. The kids had a blast, probably because their cousins were at the house while I worked and then at work functions, people played with them! We did get in a sunglass selfie and some google shots before we left!
Don't think that she didn't get some sand in the mouth!
They did great though -- we actually got to stay at the beach for a long time this trip.
6. We spent 4th of July back at the beach! We decorated the golf cart and entered the parade - which I thought was super fun!
7. I got cute Mother's Day sayings --- my favorite is 'sit on the couch'. Apparently I need to rectify that but I do like to sit on the couch to relax - I can't lie about that! Mom and DeeDee also got to come up for a school grandparents event!
8. We had our first head lice scare. It has been going around their school a lot but thankfully we didn't find any on her head. They sent her home saying she 'scratched her head'. Of course, I was like, I probably scratched my head today too but I'm pretty sure I don't have head lice. Anyway, we had to do the whole riga-ma-roar before we could go back --- which was awesome! And, I documented it! ha! Now, we use Rosemary and Tea Tree Oil leave in conditioner to help. Jules thinks it smells like roses but it makes me sneeze every morning.9. We had tons of picnics and parties. We even bravely took them to Arrington Vineyards where they acted like heathens.
10. We went to Lego Land in Atlanta after celebrating DeeDee and Daddy Deck's 40th wedding anniversary. On the day of the celebration Jules and Shook also got their first bubble bee bites. Long story but now they are both deathly afraid of ALL bugs - yes, even gnats! Do they have bug therapy? Shook loved the race car part of Lego Land - we were lucky that someone gave us their lego car because I didn't know where to start....Michael is the Master Builder in our house!
11. We have been to the fair and the zoo.
12. We have been making it a priority to visit the library more. We ended up paying for a library card in Brentwood because it is literally 2 minutes from our house but the Williamson County one that is the closest is at least 15-20 minutes from our house. I'm actually glad we did though because amazingly the facilities are better.
13. Basically, we have had a blast visiting and playing!
They are a mess!
