Meet the Deckers

Meet the Deckers
We are a blessed family! It started out 3 years ago with the addition of Memphis, our crazy Labradoodle. Then, we added Jules in January 2010. Next, our little man made his appearance in May 2011. What fun times are ahead for us!

Neighbors!

It's been over a month now that we have been in Nashville and our new home.  Seems really crazy.  When we first moved in, Jules and I made cookies for our neighbors.  She was a very good helper.

And, we made lots!

We tried our best to meet everyone but, of course, we didn't get to.  We tried over about 3 days but I think we ended up eating more of them than we gave out.  They were pretty good!

Most of our neighbors on this street are older with grandchildren that visit often.  There is a couple that have 4 children 5 years apart...makes me tired thinking about it!  They were very nice and loved playing with Jules and Shook but their youngest is 8.  They even gave us a pool card to borrow since we didn't have ours yet.  But, Jules did tell them that "We don't have any money."  The lady played along, but if there is one thing I did learn about our neighbors it is that they like to gossip so I'm sure they are having a field day with that 3 year old statement.  She did follow it up with "Well, I have money but I don't know where it is."

The street also has the German Lane Gang, as they call it, and they all go out for dinner once a month.  We went to the dinner in June but I had to ask if I could bring the kids and when they didn't really know what to say, I figured this would not be an event we would be frequenting.  It was at Moe's BBQ so I thought, surely a kid can go.  Anyway, we ate and talked for a bit but left pretty soon after we finished.  None of the younger couples were there so I think it is more something for the old people to do.  Maybe when we get old we will go!

We've been really enjoying our street and our neighborhood, very different from what we had in Birmingham.  We usually ride our bikes or go for a walk in the afternoon and occasionally we go to the pool on school nights but usually just on weekends.

There is a big park here that is less than 5 minutes from our house and it is awesome, shaded and everything is kid friendly, so we do that a lot too.

We've already been to the Aquarium Restaurant and shopping at the Disney outlet store!  (For my birthday but I didn't get anything...story of my life!)

You can't go to the mall without riding the school bus!

Michael and I figure one day I'll have this picture with her strutting and carrying Abercrombie bags or something!

We've been eating ice cream on our swing in the backyard!  And, having cookouts in our backyard kitchen!

Of course the swing was left here by the previous owners per our request, and it has already broken (similar to all the other things they left for us in this house!)  Notice the piece of wood on the ground....but the kids still love it!  Maybe we will get a replacement one day...

Needless to say, we've been having fun at our new house!
